Using video as a sales tool

As technology evolves we are constantly challenged to re-invent the way we do things and take advantage of the new tools we have at our fingertips.  Sales processes are no different.  They have evolved to the point where sales people are not the only ones selling.  Digital marketing uses a variety of different techniques to get a message in front of potential buyers and get them to take action.  As part of this digital sales evolution, marketers quickly realized the effectiveness of video as a sales tool.

Increase exposure to your message

By posting a video to your website and YouTube and then sharing it across your social media networks you can widen your reach dramatically.  Make sure to use researched and appropriate hashtags to widen your reach even further.

Video as a warm introduction

Before a face-to-face meeting most people do their research.  This often involves checking out your website or looking you up on Linkedin, but what better way to provide a warm introduction to your brand then a professional video.  You can include this video in your signature strip in emails or send it to potential clients prior to meeting as a warm introduction to your brand and message.  Use it as a tool to tell your story and send a message to set the stage for a great meeting.

While good sales people are always going to be required, they can be expensive and deliver inconsistent messages.  A great video conveys a consistent message and is a one-time cost that continually provides value.

Putting your best foot forward

Sales can be a hard job.  You always have to be on the ball.  While some sales people are amazing at delivering a message and selling value, not all salespeople are.  Your company’s message and unique value is better delivered by some sales professionals then others.  However, a well planned, shot and edited video can be massaged and perfected to send the perfect message.
