How to create a killer promo video | Part II

Welcome back! This is part II of “How to create a killer promo video”. If you haven’t had a chance to read part I yet you can click here to read lasts week’s blog.
Now that you’re crystal clear on all of the below:

  • What do you want your viewers to do after watching your video?

It’s time to start the creative process…

Step 1: Narrow down your message

For us it was “your one stop shop for all your creative marketing needs”. Remember not to overcomplicate it. Come up with a clear and concise message that you feel communicates your value.

Step 2: Script your story

Come up with a script that appeals to your clients wants, needs and desires and conveys how you can help them achieve it all. Our script was simple and to the point:

So…how did you stack up?
In today’s market, you need to be unique…Memorable…And get your message…and your brand…In front of the right people, at the right time.

Step 3: Find your voice

Find a voiceover professional who’s voice is consistent with the style of both your brand and the message. At Iconica, we’re a group of fun creative professionals, so we wanted the voice behind our brand to be light, energetic and relatable.

Step 4: Storyboard the visuals

For our video we wanted to showcase the various services that we offer, so we paired some visuals of our team at work and some final products from our branding/creative design, photography/video, print, website and digital marketing projects with the various voice over lines.

Step 5: Find a great editor to bring it all to life

Lucky for us this is our forte and we have a talented editor in house who really “gets” visual story telling. For other businesses, it’s absolutely crucial that you find an experienced editor that you can trust to bring your vision to life.
